The Blue Thing...Lol!

This was originally going to be today's post. That is, until I got all emotional and needy and posted about blogs and comments and laundry! I guess I really needed to get it all off my chest.

Anyway, before I get distracted again and go off on some other tangent, I figured I'd tell anyone reading that the blue thing from last week's "What's It Wednesday" was the solar cover for our pool.

Tune in Monday for the 1st installment of "Macro Monday"!

The Life of a Blogger

Things have been pretty hectic around here lately. I don't have to tell you all it's summer, which means there's no school. Since I do daycare during the week, that means on any given day I have 4-5 boys here from breakfast 'till 4:30-ish. When you add laundry, vacuuming, dusting, pool cleaning, general picking-up and lawn care to that, and then pile on my duties as a Photographer, it can get overwhelming at times.

So, I guess I've let my duties get in the way of my blogging. Yesterday The Husband came home with requests/complaints from some loyal readers who are disappointed with my lack of posts. I apologize.

In my defense, and at the risk of sounding pathetic, it's hard for me to find the motivation to blog when I'm not getting feedback. I'm going to let you in on a dirty little secret: I need your comments! Did I mention I'm here all day with 4-5 boys? And no adults to talk to? And since Thelma moved away I've been lonelier than ever? When I sit down at the computer during nap time and find a comment, it's the closest I get to adult interaction most of my day. It reminds me that there is a world beyond my laundry basket, and I get to experience it for a moment in between loads.

And since we're talking about blogging..."What's It Wednesday" will now become "Macro Monday". Prizes will be suspended until my guesser's come back. I can't give them to Jen every month!

Last but not least, I'd like to give a shout out to Jen for being such a loyal reader and commenter. (As a Blogger herself, she understands how those comments keep us going.) Your Birthday wishes to The Oldest meant a lot here!

Happy Birthday!

Twelve years ago today I gave birth to The Oldest. The Youngest echoed my sentiments this morning when he said he couldn't believe his brother was already 12.

I've been so busy (doing what, exactly, I can't seem to pin down) that I haven't even had time to take him out and do a session with him, but I'm making it my goal to do it before the end of the month.

Anyway, here are a few from this morning. Happy Birthday, bud!

The Youngest

You'll never guess who we found in our bed the other night...again. It's getting so bad that I'd almost say it's unusual not to find him there.

Anyway, at least it gives me someone to practice my lighting on. I'll be the first to admit that using flash is not one of my strong suits, and it's been my goal to learn to use it better.

So here he is. All decked out in his Thomas pajamas with his Thomas pillow and Thomas blanket. Is he sleeping in his train bed???? Of course not!

A close-up.

By now I've taken a dozen or so pictures, and moved my flash/played with settings about as many times. He's starting to move around a bit. I like the shadow on his face in this one.

The Husband told him to go to the bathroom before putting him in his own bed. This is where we found him, poor child. Being the nurturing Mother I am, I took a few more shots of him lying on the hard floor before allowing the tourture to come to an end.

Last week's shot was one of those fancy wine bottle opener's. You guys were so close! Let's see how you do this week...

4 Generations

Last night I had the opportunity to photograph 4 generations of women at the beautiful SUNY Cortland Alumni House (thanks so much for your graciousness, Tracey!) I had such a wonderful time during the session as they beautiful women, inside and out. "H", thank you for allowing me to capture some memories for you and your family!

The Gallery is Live!

For those of you who have been wating patiently, Bob & Amy's gallery is finished! You can go ahead an access it with the information on the back of the cards that were at the reception. This will take you right to the gallery home page.

Thanks again for being so patient as I worked on it!
